Senior Superintendent

Position: Superintendent – Multifamily Construction

Location: Long Beach, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Multifamily Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field operations of ground-up and/or large-scale multifamily construction projects in the Long Beach and greater Los Angeles market. The Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining schedule, quality, safety, and coordination of all on‑site activities from project start through closeout.

• Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for multifamily projects from mobilization through project completion
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents
• Develop and maintain short-term and look-ahead schedules in coordination with the Project Manager
• Enforce all jobsite safety requirements and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and site‑specific safety programs
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor quality, productivity, and compliance with plans and specifications
• Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and progress meetings
• Review drawings and specifications to proactively identify constructability issues and potential conflicts
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and jurisdictional requirements with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) in Long Beach and surrounding municipalities
• Track and manage field labor, equipment, and material deliveries
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and site documentation
• Coordinate punch list activities and closeout efforts to ensure timely project turnover
• Partner closely with the Project Manager, owners, architects, and consultants to resolve field issues and maintain strong project relationships

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on multifamily or mixed-use construction projects
• Proven experience delivering ground‑up multifamily projects (wood‑frame over podium and/or wrap‑style projects preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Solid working knowledge of California building codes, inspections, and safety requirements
• Proficiency with field technology and reporting tools (Procore or similar platforms preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills

• Experience with projects in Long Beach and the greater LA/Orange County region
• Experience with podium decks, site logistics, and urban infill projects
• Background working for a commercial or multifamily general contractor
