- Check bid source files to ensure latest information available for proper cost estimates
- Review project bid documents, schedules and soils reports to determine proper cost estimates
- Study and understand blueprints, specifications and job site conditions to plan effective procedures for construction and cost estimates
- Perform required take-offs and mathematical calculations to enable proper cost estimates
- Determine type of materials, equipment, labor and subcontractors required for cost estimates
- Interface with trade partners and subcontractors regarding information and quotations for proper cost estimates
- Input and organize data in estimating software to prepare proper cost estimate
- Analyze/understand associated documentation, contracts, cost coding systems, work breakouts etc.
- Identify potential risks, opportunities, and alternative solutions
- Assist in preparing/presenting potential VE solutions and other marketing strategies
- Prepare and submit final proposal with complete qualifications for proper cost estimate
- Prepare for and participate in presentation/qualification of scope and methodologies
- Track and record bid results history for continuous improvement
- Demonstrate role model behaviors on ethics and integrity, promoting People. Principle. Purpose
- Assist in training and development of co-workers to meet their Action Plan Goals
- Engage with management, team members, clients and trade partners to build trustworthy, long term, mutually profitable relationships
Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS- Education:
College Degree - Experience:
5 years’ industry specific estimating or project management - Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and decision making/problem solving skills
- Able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required
- Willingness to learn, grow and make a difference
Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
Hearing:Adequate to perform job duties in person
SpeakingMust be able to effectively communicate with others, strong interpersonal skills
VisionVisual acuity adequate to perform job duties as indicated
PhysicalRequires frequent bending, reaching, and standing, walking, squatting and sitting regularly throughout the work shift
Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard
