DescriptionWe are seeking a Project Manager to join Fulcrum Construction’s team in our Long Beach office. We are looking for an ambitious individual that is fun to be around and can contribute to the culture and profitability of Fulcrum Construction.
As a Project Manager you’ll be managing commercial construction projects from bid process through certificate of occupancy. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project software) is a must. Bluebeam, Plan Grid and Timberline/Sage 300 CRE experience is a big plus.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. He or she directs and supervises activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed on-budget, on-schedule meeting our clients’ demands and maintaining a safe work environment. You will have a great project administrator, superintendent, close out specialist, project accountant, and the rest of the company on your team throughout the project.
You’ll be expected to manage multiple projects at one time in various phases of development while meeting or beating established budget and scheduling goals. You’ll need to be very good at prioritizing and managing your time. Maintaining your cool under pressure, staying fluid and being flexible are desirable attributes.
Essential Functions:
- Subcontract negotiation, scope review and buy-out of subcontracts.
- Profit-driven or Bottom-line maximization.
- Provide monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Preconstruction coordination and budgeting.
- Project scheduling.
- Work in conjunction with Superintendents, Project Administrators, Project Engineers, accounting staff and close-out specialist.
- Client interface - Keep customers happy.
- Promote Fulcrum Construction to existing and new customers.
At least 5-10 years experience as a Project Manager for a general contractor.
A degree in construction management or engineering is preferred but not required.
We believe that a can-do attitude, the ability to learn quickly, and a passion for construction can more than make up for a lack of specific experience or a construction degree.
