Position: Director of Construction (Remote)

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Construction (Offshore) to oversee and coordinate multiple ground-up multifamily construction projects across California. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the offshore construction team, supporting field operations, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing U.S. construction projects, particularly ground-up multifamily developments, and possesses strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. You will serve as the central point of coordination between our offshore team, field construction managers, general contractor, and design consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the offshore construction team, including Project Engineers and other construction support staff.

Supervise and provide direction to MDNI team members to ensure efficient project execution and accountability.

Oversee the General Contractor (MID Construction) throughout the construction of multiple ground-up multifamily projects.

Coordinate with field Construction Managers to monitor project progress, resolve issues, and maintain construction schedules.

Manage and collaborate with the full design team, including architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, civil engineers, geotechnical consultants, and other project consultants.

Review and monitor project budgets, contracts, schedules, change orders, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, meeting minutes, and other construction documentation.

Attend and actively participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, providing project updates and driving action items to completion.

Identify project risks, recommend solutions, and ensure issues are addressed proactively.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, California building codes, contract requirements, and company standards.

Monitor project milestones, construction quality, procurement status, and overall project performance.

Work closely with company leadership to provide accurate project reporting and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).

Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing U.S. construction projects, with significant experience in ground-up multifamily residential developments
.

Strong knowledge of U.S. construction practices, project delivery methods, contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.

Extensive experience managing Project Engineers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.

Thorough understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and construction administration.

Experience reviewing construction schedules, project budgets, and financial reports.

Familiarity with California construction practices and building regulations is highly preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software is preferred.

Comfortable working remotely while collaborating with U.S.

-based project teams during Pacific Time business hours.
