What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Used Vehicle Intake Specialist within the Used Car Operations business. This team is responsible for ensuring seamless customer experiences for all acquired lease returns across North America. As a Used Vehicle Intake Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in evaluating the condition of vehicles entering Tesla’s Used Vehicle Program. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in vehicle damage assessment, strong customer service skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless experience.
You’ll ensure accurate damage reporting, generate repair estimates, and support customers throughout the intake process while contributing to Tesla’s mission of sustainability.
- Assess vehicle damage using photos and on-site inspections, determining severity to estimate parts, labor and repair time
- Address customer inquiries about wear-and-tear fees and the intake process
- Resolve customer and internal teams' requests promptly, maintaining a focus on exceptional service and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including sales, financial services and used car stakeholders in support of customer and vehicle journey
- Prioritize tasks, organize workflows and adapt to shifting business needs, including flexible on-site presence at delivery locations as needed
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle condition and assessments using Tesla’s internal tools
- 3-4 years of body repair experience, or 1-2 years of auto damage appraisal experience
- 1-2 years of customer service experience with strong communication skills
- Experience identifying after-market parts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and web-based tools
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
- Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing, where applicable

$17.48 - $37.62/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
