We are seeking a creative and highly technical Senior Knitwear Designer to join our design team. This role will lead the development of our knitwear collections from initial concept to final production. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of knitwear construction, garment engineering, and trend direction, with the ability to design commercially successful collections for the Gen Z customer.
Key Responsibilities- Research global trends, color palettes, and innovative yarn developments and maintain a strong understanding of the Gen Z consumer, identifying emerging trends and translating them into commercially viable knitwear collections.
- Create, sketch, and develop CADs for seasonal knitwear collections and create seasonal presentation boards that communicate the design vision and product direction.
- Develop detailed tech packs with all construction specifications and manage ongoing communication with overseas factories to ensure accurate sample development, fit approvals, and production execution.
- Partner with overseas factories to oversee prototype development, sample reviews, fittings, and production approvals.
- Troubleshoot technical knitting issues during the sample development stage.
- Collaborate with merchandising and product development teams to ensure design aligns with customer needs, costing, margin targets, and business objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in knitwear design, preferably in a junior market apparel environment.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of knitwear and garment construction.
- Deep knowledge of knit fabrics from composition to construction, stretch, recovery, and performance characteristics.
- Proven experience working with overseas factories and managing end-to-end product development.
- Strong understanding of fit, construction, and manufacturing process.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Salary: $120,000 - $125,000 per year.
