Radiology - Interventional Pediatric Physician

Location: Long Beach, CA (Remote Reading)

• Dates Needed:

  • 2/19-2/20: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • 2/21: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

• Coverage Type: Remote pediatric teleradiology

• Modalities: All except nuclear medicine

• Procedures:

  • Weekend shift includes procedures

  • Physician must respond within 30 minutes for emergency procedures

  • If the candidate is non-local, the Lead Pediatric Radiologist can cover procedures on Saturday 2/21

• Ongoing Option: PRN coverage available after these dates

• Active, unrestricted California medical license

• DEA license

• Double board certification:

  • Diagnostic Radiology

  • Pediatric Radiology

• BLS or ACLS certification

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited three-year Diagnostic Radiology residency

• Pediatric Radiology fellowship (required)

• Epic (Inpatient) experience required

• Experience:

  • Minimum one year required

  • Three or more years preferred

• Hours:
  
  7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (9-hour shift)

• Setting:
  Inpatient hospital

• EMR:
  Epic (Inpatient)

• Covers pediatric inpatient and ER studies from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

• Case mix:

  • Approximately 85% plain films

  • 15% ultrasound, CT, and MR

  • No nuclear medicine

• Average volume: 60-80 studies per day

• Responsibilities:

  • Available for technologist questions

  • Review of outside studies

  • Perform urgent pediatric fluoroscopic procedures (non-interventional)

• After 6:00 PM:

  • Covers inpatient film consults until Stat Rad assumes coverage at 11:00 PM

  • May occasionally read ER studies late at night or be called in for procedures

• Responsible for inpatient film consults from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

• Available for emergent fluoroscopic procedures overnight
