Coverage Type: Absence/Vacancy Coverage + PRN
Start Date: asap
Contract Length: Short-term + PRN ongoing
Credentialing: Emergency privileging possible (clean files only)

Facility & Practice Setting
  • One shared radiology and ER department serving both adult and pediatric hospitals

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient

  • EMR / PACS: Epic (REQUIRED)

  • Hospital-based support staff

Schedule & Coverage

Weekday Day Shift (Onsite):

  • 7:00 AM 4:00 PM (9 hours)

Coverage Types May Include:

  • Day shift coverage

  • Onsite call shifts

  • Remote on-call coverage

  • Weekend coverage as needed

  • PRN availability preferred

Weekend Call Responsibilities
  • Coverage window: Saturday or Sunday, 8:00 AM 6:00 PM

  • Reads include all pediatric inpatient & ER studies

    • Mostly plain films

    • 15% US, CT, MRI

    • No nuclear medicine

  • Typical volume: studies/day

  • Initial workload includes overnight studies + morning film load ( 3 continuous hours)

  • Intermittent reads throughout the day (check every minutes)

  • Radiologist is available for:

    • Tech questions

    • Outside study reviews

    • Urgent pediatric fluoroscopic procedures (non-interventional)

  • After 6 PM:

    • Inpatient consult responsibility until Stat Rad takes over at 11 PM

    • ER films after 6 PM covered by adult ER radiologist (with occasional overlap)

While not continuously workstation-based, the time commitment and consult responsibilities equate to a full weekday shift.

Weeknight Call
  • Inpatient consults: 8:00 PM 11:00 PM

  • Emergent pediatric fluoroscopy coverage: 8:00 PM 6:00 AM

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
  • Double Board Certified: Diagnostic Radiology AND Pediatric Radiology

  • Completion of:

    • Accredited 3-year radiology residency

    • Pediatric Radiology fellowship

  • Active, unrestricted California license

  • Epic experience

  • COMPLETELY CLEAN background & malpractice history

    • No claims

    • No disciplinary actions

    • Required for emergency privileging
