About the Position
Locum - Physician - Neonatology Long Beach, CA
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Locum Physician specializing in Neonatology, providing critical care in a Level IV neonatal intensive care environment. This opportunity offers a meaningful chance to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable patients while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. The role encompasses in-house shift coverage on weekdays, nights, weekends, and 24-hour shifts, tailored to meet the urgent needs of our neonatal unit.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid and unrestricted medical license in California
Board Certification or Eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Proven clinical expertise in neonatology, including managing critically ill infants
Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
Nice to Have
Skills:
Previous experience in a Level IV NICU setting
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Experience with hand-held ventilators and advanced neonatal interventions
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Minimum of 3 years of neonatal intensive care experience
Prior locum or hospital-based clinical experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Availability for various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and 24-hour coverage
Compliance with all healthcare licensing, certification, and credentialing requirements
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support hospital staffing demands
No travel restrictions; travel and licensure reimbursements available as applicable
