Required Qualifications:
* M.A./M.S. in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, Travel, Tourism or related discipline. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the master's degree by August 1, 2026.
* Earned B.A./B.S. in Recreation, parks, tourism or a related discipline
* Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the college level
* Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic and first-generation students
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in teaching or training excellence at the college or professional level
* Experience working successfully with a diverse student population
* Demonstrated commitment to/experience of student mentorship
* At least two years of related professional work experience (Outdoor Recreation/Travel and Tourism)
* Experience successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
* Experience mentoring or supporting students using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom
Duties:
* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Outdoor Recreation, Resource Management, Tourism, Social Media Marketing, Sustainability. Instruction is primarily in-person. (Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.)
* Develop relationships with internal and external partners to further expand student opportunities in Outdoor Recreation, Travel and Tourism industry
* Participate in service to the department, college, university, profession, and community
