Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President for Student Success and Engagement, the Director of the Office of Belonging and Inclusion (OBI) serves as the lead administrator for the Office of Belonging and Inclusion and the Men’s Success Initiative. The Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, and assessment of programs, services, and training that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, identity development, and a sense of belonging in support of student engagement, retention, and degree completion.

The Director implements institution-wide initiatives that support the recruitment, matriculation, persistence, and graduation of students identified by the CSU system as underrepresented. Using a student-centered and equity-minded approach, the Director develops and delivers culturally responsive programs that support the academic, social, emotional, and overall success of students from diverse, historically underserved, and traditionally disenfranchised populations.

Furthermore, this position is responsible for providing services that are equitable, inclusive and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life, retention, and graduation rates. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and maintain the Office of Belonging and Inclusion:
    Supervises and leads budget and develops short-term and long-range financial plans. Supervises preparation of expenditure projection reports and other fiscal reports for the Division office.
  • Meet, confer, and collaborate regularly with the units throughout the Division of Student Affairs, the Dean of Students, as well as with academic departments, campus partners and community organizations to understand specific needs and create and tailor training to identified needs and requests in support of student success.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU MPP Compensation Summary Range: The MPP Comp Summary Range for this position is $7,240 - $10,860 per month.
