PT Counselor/Guidance Instructor - Veterans

Establish a pool for part‑time and/or substitute instructors in the Counseling discipline. Applications are kept on file for one year; when a position becomes available the department will review them.

• Provide counseling services for veteran students and military students with disabilities at MVC Veteran Service Center.
• Deliver academic, vocational, and personal counseling.
• Develop abbreviated and comprehensive Student Educational Plans for a diverse student veteran and military student population, with an emphasis on student veterans and military students.
• Teach lecture and/or laboratory instruction in the counseling discipline, as required.
• Work flexible hours, including day, evening, and/or weekend classes, based on District needs.

• Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, or equivalent; all degrees must be from accredited institutions.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
