Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Life and Development, the Coordinator will implement NCAA and Big West student‑athlete development programming and initiatives focused on professional development, career development, self‑discovery, leadership development, life‑skills, and wellness education for student athletes based on their unique needs.
The Coordinator will help develop and implement programming and events—including community service, civic engagement, and campus involvement efforts—to engage student athletes, promote belonging, and support department efforts.
The person will serve as a liaison between Athletics and Student Affairs, and other campus divisions and departments, to collaborate and coordinate services that support student‑athletes. They will work closely with the Bickerstaff Athletic Center (BAC) and the Associate Athletics Director (AD) of Student‑Athlete Health & Wellness to ensure coordinated messaging and programming. The position incorporates assessment of these efforts including the development of student learning outcomes, measures of program effectiveness, and student‑athlete engagement.
This role provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. The position uses a student‑centered and equity‑minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the "Be a Champion Program" (BCP) for all Student Athletes in collaboration with Bickerstaff Academic Center and Athletics, including semester‑specific participation plans.
- Design and implement educational leadership programming to enhance student learning experience and engagement using a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion framework.
- Work proactively with department members to address student life issues and major programs such as the Student Leadership Summit and Celebration of Leadership.

Duration of AppointmentThis is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

CompensationSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $5,083 - $6,156 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. - CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,083 - $7,228 per month.
- Paid Time Off: Up to 24 vacation days per year (based on employee group and/or length of service), 14 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually with unlimited accrual.

The ideal candidate is well versed in counseling techniques and capable of addressing sensitive, complex issues within the student‑athlete population, with demonstrated experience working in an athletic department and a university setting supporting student‑athletes.
