To be eligible for full benefits, employees must be appointed at least half-time (.50 FTE) with an appointment lasting more than six months and one day. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate is well versed in counseling techniques and capable of addressing sensitive, complex issues within the student-athlete population, with demonstrated experience working in an athletic department and a university setting supporting student-athletes. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while remaining self-directed, energetic, and strongly motivated. The candidate possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and can effectively engage with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community, demonstrating a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student development.

They have a solid understanding of student and student-athlete development theories and the ability to translate these into meaningful leadership development opportunities and co-curricular programming. Additionally, the candidate will actively advance the Department of Athletics and the University's goals related to diversity, gender equity, and Title IX compliance, while fostering a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all. They must also maintain knowledge of and compliance with NCAA and Big West Conference rules, ensuring that any concerns or violations are appropriately reported.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

* Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.

* Master's in counseling, student personnel or other related social sciences preferred.
