Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Life and Development, the Coordinator will implement NCAA and Big West student‑athlete development programming and initiatives focused on professional development, career development, self‑discovery initiatives, leadership development, life‑skills, and wellness education for student athletes based on their unique needs.

In consultation with Athletics Senior Women's Administrator, the incumbent will help develop and implement programming and events including community service, civic engagement, and campus involvement to engage student athletes, promote belonging, and support department efforts. The person will also serve as a liaison between Athletics and Student Affairs and other campus departments to collaborate and coordinate services in support of student‑athlete needs.

The coordinator will work closely with the Bickerstaff Athletic Center (BAC) and the Associate Athletics Director (AD) of Student‑Athlete Health & Wellness to ensure messaging and programming is coordinated. The incumbent will incorporate assessments of these efforts, including the development of student learning outcomes, measures of program effectiveness, and student‑athlete engagement.

This position provides equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive services to enhance campus life. The position uses a student‑centered and equity‑minded approach in all communications and service efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Athlete Development – Be a Champion Program:
    In collaboration with Bickerstaff Academic Center (BAC) and Athletics, coordinate the "Be a Champion Program (BCP)" for Student Athletes, ensuring all Student Athletes participate based on class standing.
  • Design and implement educational leadership programming to enhance the student learning experience and engagement using a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion framework.
  • Collaborate with department staff to address student life issues and Student Leadership Development (SLD) major programs such as the Student Leadership Summit and Celebration of Leadership.
Education and Experience

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science, public or business administration, or related field and two years of professional experience in a student services program area.

• Master’s in counseling, student personnel or other related social sciences preferred.
