Position: Addiction Paraprofessional Training, Part-time Adjunct Pool (East Kern/Tehachapi/Rising Scholars)

Addiction Paraprofessional Training, Part-time Adjunct Pool (East Kern/Tehachapi/Rising Scholars)

Job Type: Temporary Adjunct. Salary: $67.00 hourly.

Location:

East Kern, Tehachapi (Rising Scholars), CA.

Representative Duties
  • Provide instruction in a full range of Addiction Paraprofessional Training courses.
  • Teach at multiple campus sites, including day, evening, weekend, and distance learning settings, using diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Forestry, Climate, and Conservation department.
  • Maintain subject matter currency, develop and revise curriculum, and use computer and multimedia technology.
  • Engage collegially in department, college, district, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related professional experience; or
  • Associate’s degree and at least 6 years of related professional experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and accomplishments may be considered.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues in an innovative, inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work with students possessing a wide range of skills, motivations, and academic or vocational goals.
  • Ability to develop curriculum for various modalities.
  • Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain subject‑matter currency.
  • Ability to assess student learning outcomes.
  • Knowledge of computers and openness to exploring new technologies that benefit the program.
  • Commitment to the California community college mission.
