Join the Long Beach Community College District as a Matriculation Assistant, supporting student access and success through the enrollment, onboarding, and matriculation process. In this role, you will perform a variety of clerical support duties related to matriculation and student services, assisting students as they complete key steps toward beginning their college experience.
You will provide general information to students and the public regarding matriculation activities such as placement, orientation, counseling, and registration; assist with completing forms and applications; support onboarding and matriculation-related events; and help maintain records and data. The position also involves assisting with orientations, placements, registration, and other program sign-ups; referring students to appropriate services; and supporting the setup and organization of matriculation workshops and activities.
Additionally, this candidate must have graduated from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and two (2) years of clerical/office experience, and serving college students, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ability to speak, read and write Vietnamese, Cambodian, and/or Spanish is highly desired. Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.
