Administration of Justice Instructor, Part‑time Adjunct Pool – East Kern, Tehachapi
The Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part‑time, hourly adjunct instructors in the Administration of Justice department. The starting hourly rate is $67.00. Positions may involve teaching at multiple campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and various teaching methodologies.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in a full range of Administration of Justice (ADMJ) courses.
- Teach at different campus locations and across diverse time slots, including day, evening, and weekend sessions.
- Develop and revise curriculum and course materials, ensuring content remains current and relevant.
- Apply computer and multimedia technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Participate in student recruitment, retention, and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Engage in collegial activities at departmental, college, district, and discipline‑specific levels.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency and demonstrate depth of knowledge in the discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related professional experience; or
- Associate’s degree and at least 6 years of related professional experience; or
- Possession of a valid credential that authorizes full‑time teaching of Administration of Justice; or
- Equivalency that meets or exceeds the stated minimum requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students in a diverse learning environment.
- Ability to develop curriculum for different modalities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that benefit the program.
- Commitment to the California community‑college mission.
