About the PositionThe teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Trade, Technology and Community Learning campus, or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online, or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part‑time faculty positions are as required positions that do not accrue rights to tenure. They offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals.

- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Master’s in philosophy; or
- Bachelor’s in philosophy and Master’s in humanities or religious studies; or
- Hold a valid credential to teach in the discipline; or
- The equivalent.
- Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to teach in-person at both Liberal Arts College and TTC, as well as online.
- Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.
- Proven success teaching logic and critical thinking.
- Commitment to DEIA.
- A Long Beach Community College District application.
- A current resume.
- All graduate and undergraduate transcripts, showing school name, all college coursework, degree title and conferral date. Transcripts can be official or unofficial and must be submitted as an attachment. The conferral date must be on or before the Final date to receive applications to meet Minimum Qualifications.
- Transcripts from countries other than the United States must be evaluated by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Service.
- Applicants who do not meet the Statewide Minimum Qualifications for this discipline verbatim are required to submit a Supplemental Equivalency Application.
