ABOUT THE POSITION

The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Trade, Technology and Community Learning campus, or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off-campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as-needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s in philosophy; OR
  • Bachelor’s in philosophy AND Master’s in humanities or religious studies; OR
  • Hold a valid credential to teach in the discipline; OR
  • The equivalent of any of the above
  • Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to teach in‑person at both LAC and TTC, as well as online.
  • Recent community college or lower-division teaching experience.
  • Proven success teaching logic and critical thinking.
  • Commitment to DEIA.

    , showing school name, all college coursework, degree title, and conferral date. This includes transcripts for any and all degrees, AA/AAs, BA/BS, MA/MS and above (Ed.D, Ph.D., etc.) and courses used for transfer credit. Transcripts can be official or unofficial and must be submitted as an attachment. The conferral date must be on or before the Final date to receive applications to meet Minimum Qualifications.
  • Transcripts from countries other than the United States must be evaluated by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Service.
