Position Overview
Full-Time Lecturer, Counseling Psychology (1-Academic Year , Renewable). Effective Date:
August 18, 2025 (Fall Semester). Salary Range: $74,652 to $158,688 per academic year; anticipated hiring range $75,000 to $85,008. Final date to receive applications:

- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (degree or official notification of completion by August 1, 2025). - Demonstrated experience providing counseling and/or mental health services, especially in culturally responsive ways to a racially, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse clientele.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and engaging effectively with a diverse student population.
- Current clinical license (psychologist, marriage and family therapist, licensed professional clinical counselor, or social work) from the State of California.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: empirically supported therapeutic models, child therapy, family focused treatment, couples therapy, psychological assessment, pharmacology, advocacy, telehealth/online therapeutic services.
- Excellent record of teaching, mentoring, and advising college students from ethnically and culturally diverse groups.
- Demonstrated effectiveness or potential to contribute to equity in urban education.
- Experience teaching core counseling courses (e.g., family/couples therapy, play therapy).
- Experience as a clinical supervisor.
- Experience teaching or working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body.
- Teach core courses in the Counseling Psychology program and provide clinical supervision at the on-site clinic (instruction may be in-person, hybrid, online, or a combination).
- Engage in program-related service activities such as student advising, fieldwork coordination, and admissions at the master’s level.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff across the program, department, college, and university.
- Maintain a campus office work schedule aligned with department workload.
- Letter of application addressing required and preferred qualifications and indicating area(s) of specialization, if any.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Three references (including current supervisor); verbal reference if finalist.
- Evidence of successful university teaching experience, if applicable.
- Evidence of a current clinical license from the State of California, if applicable.
