Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of the CLA Donato Center the Translation Program Recruiter is responsible for coordinating and executing various aspects of recruitment activities to increase applicants and student enrollment in the Translation Studies Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruits, counsels and plan events for prospective students
  • Coordinates with other CSULB departments and faculty advisors in order to improve recruitment efforts
  • Coordinates and staffs recruitment and career fairs

This is a temporary hourly/intermittent position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

The salary range for this classification is $25.86 to $36.59 per hour.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position has demonstrated experience recruiting, advising, and engaging prospective students through strategic outreach initiatives and events. They are skilled in planning and coordinating recruitment campaigns for prospective students, parents, academic counselors, and advisors from regional K-12 schools and community colleges, with particular attention to language-related programs. They can develop effective recruitment and informational materials, collaborate with campus partners across advising, enrollment, and student affairs units to strengthen outreach efforts, and represent academic programs at recruitment events, career fairs, and professional conferences.

The ideal candidate also excels at building strong relationships with educational partners, leveraging enrollment and yield data to inform recruitment strategies, and conducting targeted outreach to students from traditionally underserved populations to support enrollment growth and student success.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public, or business administration, or job-related field and one year of directly related experience required.

Demonstrated recruiting experience in a college setting, preferred.

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects (10 pounds or less).
