Position: Site Coordinator - Long Beach

Job Overview

Arc Experience of fers before and after‑school programs across Southern California. The Site Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a positive and enriching environment where students can thrive beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily after‑school programs and activities that align with the organization's mission and student needs.
  • Ensure programs are engaging, age‑appropriate, and promote academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Recruit, train, and manage after‑school program staff.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for school administration, fostering strong relationships and partnerships between the school and after‑school staff.
  • Develop staff schedules, assign duties, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and training to enhance staff effectiveness.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all staff and students.
  • Address student behavior issues in a positive and constructive manner, following organizational guidelines.
  • Monitor student attendance and engagement, addressing concerns with parents and school staff as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with district staff to support program goals and ensure alignment with school and community needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share updates on student progress and program activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and program evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including licensing and safety requirements.
  • Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee program setup, including materials, space, and equipment.
  • Coordinate transportation and meals/snacks for students as needed.
  • Represent the organization positively to all stakeholders as the primary contact for the after‑school program.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in after‑school programming operations and administrative skills.
  • 1+ year of experience managing a team.
  • Strong communication skills; able to talk to kids, parents, school administrators, and teachers comfortably.
  • Problem‑solver, team player, and good listener.
  • Able to supervise and support staff without constant direction.
  • Collaborative with all levels of staff.
  • Professional attitude, commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and common operating systems.
  • College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed, or completion of an academic proficiency exam.
  • Require TB test (negative) and Live Scan background check.
  • Must hold or obtain CPR and first aid certification within 12 months.
  • English–Spanish bilingual speaker highly preferred.
  • Must provide documentation of full Covid‑19 vaccination if required by the school.

Schedule
  • Monday to Friday
  • Option for split shift if a morning program exists; otherwise, 8‑hour days.
