We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist for the West Power & Utilities Group based in Long Beach, CA. The responsibilities will include supporting the Project Management team for all project related activities including preparation cost engineering, scheduling, estimating, client-facing project status reporting, deliverables and change management. Project Budget management activities will include actuals tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly invoicing, accounts payables/receivable tracking, change order management, and subcontractor scope, progress and earned value assessing.
The Group designs leading edge infrastructure and utility projects with engineering up to $20M to $500M integrated engineering, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning project schedules. Develop and maintain multiple Project, logic driven schedules.
Some of your responsibilities
Responsibilities- Assist project teams (Project Managers/Project Engineers), 15+ small, medium and large projects
- Preparing proposal manloaded work plans, resulting budgets and schedules
- Projects and task budget development verses actual, forecasting, tracking, trending project work plans including mitigation, reprograming work plans
- Prepare and distribute internally (team) & externally (client/contractor) regular project related progress and cost reports
- Create and maintain change request/change order logs. Prepare scope descriptions and tracking
- Assist with work in process review, schedule and deliverables
- Invoicing support for PMs
- Subcontract administration
- Project review support
- Admin support with client deliverables
- Work experience in cost engineering, scheduling, estimating in engineering and infrastructure related fields (5 years min.)
- Technical:
Excel (proficient, advanced a plus), Microsoft Office Suite - B.A. / B.S. is preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Detail oriented self-starter
- Experience with project scheduling tools including MS Project is required
- Strong organization skills in working with Project Managers.
- Experience with cost reporting, monthly financial reporting, project execution.

The total compensation that we expect to pay for this position is dependent on years of experience, licensure, education, geographic location, and project portfolio but expected to be in the $85,000 to $100,000 range.
