Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and services required for renewable energy transportation and construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, and compliance with sustainability, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Source and procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services for transportation and construction projects (e.g., electrical components, structural materials, renewable energy systems, heavy equipment).
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers with an emphasis on sustainability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to support project budgets and schedules.
- Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve supply chain issues or delays.
- Collaborate with project teams to forecast material needs and align procurement schedules with construction timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
- Monitor market trends, availability, and pricing for renewable energy and construction materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and cost reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and reduce environmental impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in construction, transportation infrastructure, or renewable energy.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience working with ERP or procurement software systems.
- Understanding of construction materials, equipment, and project-based procurement.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmentally responsible sourcing is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
