Structural Engineer

📍 Long Beach, CA (Onsite | 5x8 Schedule with Optional WFH Fridays)

Mangan is seeking a mid- to senior-level Structural Engineer to join our Long Beach team supporting industrial projects across power, utilities, oil & gas, and related facilities.

This role is focused on industrial structural engineering - not site development or commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in structural steel and concrete design within heavy industrial environments and be comfortable owning analysis and calculations in a collaborative engineering setting.

• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial facilities
• Develop structural calculations, load combinations, and design criteria
• Design steel structures, concrete foundations, and related systems
• Support power and utility-related infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines
• Conduct site visits and structural observations as needed
• Review drawings, vendor submittals, and as-built documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 5–12+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California PE preferred)
• Experience with structural steel and concrete design
• Proficiency with tools such as RISA (3D/Foundation/Connection), RAM Connection, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Excel
• Familiarity with codes such as ASCE, IBC, AISC, and ACI
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Experience supporting power, utility, substation, oil & gas, or water/wastewater projects is highly valued.
