Position Summary
A Propulsion Analyst Intern at Rocket Lab's Long Beach site will support the Neutron Propulsion team by creating FEA models of new and updated designs, and analyzing critical rocket engine hardware. The intern will work with a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing and testing rocket engines.
Responsibilities- Work closely with your mentor and other department members to apply knowledge and grow technical and professional skills.
- Collaborate with a fast‑paced group to apply engineering concepts to solve real challenges.
- Attend frequent 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning while providing progress updates.
- Enjoy tech talks and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events.
- Enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in engineering, physics, or mathematics with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, or project).
- GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- 6 months or more of applied engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python, ANSYS, Siemens NX, MATLAB, or Solid Works.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Able to work full‑time on‑site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning August or September 2026.
- Pay Range (CA): $28.00 USD per hour.
- Possible stipend to subsidize relocation costs.
- Base salary determined case‑by‑case based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
