In this position...
The Design Industrialization Engineer is responsible for working between engineering and supply chain teams as well as with external suppliers to ensure alignment on requirements, provide critical feedback on part designs, 2-D drawings, and directly improve specification development procedures for Ford's next generation electric powertrains.
The Design Industrialization Engineer is responsible for working between engineering and supply chain teams as well as with external suppliers to ensure alignment on requirements, provide critical feedback on part designs, 2-D drawings, and directly improve specification development procedures for Ford's next generation electric powertrains.
What you'll do...
* Own processes, communication, and documentation during transition to high volume production
* Develop correct specs for successful RFQ's using reliability goals and FMEA's
* Evaluate supplier capabilities using Product DFM & Process DFM tools
* Define supplier quality goals during DFM negotiations and prototype phases for pre-production activities
. Ensures 100% DFM prior sourcing for new complex technologies. Captures CAPEX and tooling. BOD/BOM/BOP captured , After sourcing continues to evolve for industrialization readiness, single source of truth for industrialization execution for PPAP QOE delivery
* Conduct supplier visits to ensure accuracy of information
* Support design team in generating and checking 2-D drawings and component specifications
* Define internal specification development procedures
* Perform design for manufacturing review of components and systems
* Validate quoted costs vs. reality of production, and eliminate supplier waste for optimized cost
* Help define and drive program schedule based on supplier lead-times
* Ensure engineering design work and supplier milestones are met
* Directly contribute to hiring and building out of engineering and quality teams
