Position OverviewThe Boeing Global Services (BGS) is hiring Associate, Mid-Level and Senior C‑17 Structural Design Engineers to join the C‑17 Program Engineering Team located in Long Beach, California. The C‑17 Globe master III is a large military transport aircraft that will require extensive engineering support through the 2070s. This role supports the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program, offering a unique opportunity to work on a diverse engineering team.
PositionResponsibilities
- Collaborate with other C‑17 Stress Analysts to qualify repairs and modifications to the C‑17 aircraft utilizing computer‑aided and classical methods
- Document and publish/release structural designs and analysis results
- Become skilled in C‑17 specific tools, processes, and documentation
- Work towards eligibility to be granted C‑17 Delegated Engineering Authority
- Supervise and train early‑career team members
- Some travel may be required
- May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- 1+ years’ experience with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis
- 1+ years’ experience with finite element modelling structural analysis methods and tools
- 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Level
3)- Design and repair of aerospace metallic and composite structures
- Collaboration with team members
- Use of: NASTRAN, PATRAN, CAS‑D, ABAQUS, NX, Teamcenter, CSW
- Support of McDonnell Douglas Corporation products such as: DC‑8, DC‑9/MD‑80/MD‑90/717, DC‑10/KC‑10/MD‑11, C‑17, F‑15, F/A‑18, AV‑8B
- 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Level
4)- Leading, teaching within discipline
- Active U.S. Security Clearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment

Pay ranges are:
- Associate (Level
2): $90,950 – $123,050 - Mid‑level (Level
3): $111,350 – $150,650 - Senior (Level
4): $135,150 – $182,850
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required (including U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
EducationBachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required.
RelocationRelocation may be offered based on candidate eligibility.
Security ClearanceAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is required. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
