Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering launch services, spacecraft, and satellite components. The Integration & Test Engineer I/II is responsible for developing, testing, and deploying flight spacecraft systems, as well as maintaining and upgrading test systems for that hardware to support the Space Systems organization.
What You'll Do- Lead and own integration and test campaigns at various levels of spacecraft development
- Work collaboratively to define systems requirements, verification and validation plans
- Develop acceptance, qualification, and R&D test plans for spacecraft systems
- Develop, maintain, and operate environmental test systems such as Vibe, TVAC, Thermal, and EMI
- Develop and maintain mechanical and electrical ground support equipment and facilities
- Interface with ground test software and implement flight software configuration changes
- Lead investigations into anomalous vehicle behavior and interface with hardware-in-the-loop test systems
- US citizenship required due to ITAR program requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or related engineering field
- Engineering experience in the aerospace industry as a test engineer or hands‑on engineering role
- Proficiency with C, C++, Python, or MATLAB and Windows 10 with Microsoft Office products
- Experience writing technical documentation including procedures, reports, and requirements
- For Engineer II level: 2+ years of aerospace engineering experience as a test engineer
- Master's or PhD in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or related engineering field
- Experience with environmental testing such as thermal vacuum or random vibration testing
- 4+ years of professional aerospace test engineering experience
- Strong understanding of satellite subsystems including CDH, ADCS, EPS, and COMM
- Experience working in clean rooms and with ESD‑sensitive equipment
- Hands‑on experience using electrical test equipment including PSU, Oscilloscope, DMM
- Exposure to designing and implementing test systems for electronics
- Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning and data acquisition electronics
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably NX, RF testing, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing
- Basic networking knowledge and experience with Linux systems
Base salary $95,000–$140,000 USD (California only).
