The Payloads organization within Boeing Commercial Airplanes seeks a Structures & Payload Design Engineer to join the Multi‑Model Galley Insert Team.

The role involves frequent collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, supply chain, galley suppliers, factory personnel, interior certification teams, payload configuration, customer engineering, and airline customers.

We require a proactive individual who can approach problems systematically, manage program issues, communicate effectively, and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.

Position Responsibilities
  • Manages program activities and collaborates with all stakeholders in the value stream to meet on‑time delivery commitments.
  • Coordinates and manages multiple galley insert qualification programs simultaneously.
  • Reviews and approves supplier technical data and hardware for compliance with FAA, customer and Boeing specifications.
  • Works with technical experts to ensure proper test and certification requirements, and develops designs and analysis processes to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
  • Engages with factory personnel to ensure seamless installation and integration of galley inserts.
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate technical inquiries, deviations, customer specific inquiries, non‑conformances, operational and quality issues.
  • Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration and/or certification.
  • 2+ years of experience in aircraft interiors design and certification.
  • 2+ years of experience designing payload structures and/or payload mechanical assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of airplane payloads and interiors.
  • Working knowledge of FAA and/or EASA transport category aircraft program regulations.
  • Working knowledge of supplier activity management.
  • Working knowledge of CSDT, ETAC, PDM, IVT.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 or equivalent 3D CAD design software.
  • Working knowledge of root cause corrective action.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
  • Working knowledge of program and project management.
  • Working knowledge of cross‑functional team collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings review and release process.
Pay and Benefits

Summary pay range Level 2 (Associate): $96,300 - $117,700.

Summary pay range Level 3 (Experienced): $117,900 - $144,100.
