Structures & Payload Design Engineer; Galley Insert Design; Associate or Experienced

Structures & Payload Design Engineer (Galley Insert Design) – Associate or Experienced. The Payloads organization within Boeing Commercial Airplanes seeks a Structures & Payload Design Engineer to join the Multi‑Model Galley Insert Team in Long Beach, CA. The position is 100 % on‑site.

• Manages program activities and collaborates with all stakeholders in the value stream to meet on‑time delivery commitments.
• Coordinates and manages multiple Galley Inserts qualification programs simultaneously.
• Reviews and approves supplier technical data and hardware for compliance with FAA, customer, and Boeing specifications.
• Works with technical experts to ensure proper test and certification requirements, and develops designs and analysis processes to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the programs.
• Engages with factory personnel to ensure seamless installation and integration of the galley inserts.
• Applies engineering principles to investigate technical inquiries, deviations, customer specific inquiries, non‑conformances, operational and quality issues.
• Works under general supervision.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences).
• 2+ years of engineering experience in design, integration, and/or certification.
• 2+ years of experience in Aircraft Interiors Design and Certification.
• 2+ years of experience designing payload structures and/or payload mechanical assemblies.

• 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience.
• Knowledge of airplane payloads and interiors, FAA and/or EASA transport category regulations, supplier activities, CSDT, ETAC, PDM, IVT, CATIA V5 (or equivalent 3‑D CAD).
• Root Cause Corrective Action, program/project management, working with cross‑functional teams, engineering drawings review and release process.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

• Pay:
  Level2 (Associate) $96,300–$117,700;
  Level3 (Experience) $117,900–$144,100.
