Description:

ENG
- Perform mechanical systems design and analysis activities supporting aircraft Environmental Control Systems and spares engineering solutions for obsolescent parts. Develop engineering solutions, review analyses, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and support design release activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements. Provide technical leadership while supporting commercial aircraft systems and continuous process improvement initiatives.

# Education & Job Requirements

* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years of experience in an engineering classification,

* Possess 8+ years of experience with aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis, including ATA 21 air conditioning, air distribution and supply, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, nitrogen generating systems, ATA 26 cargo fire protection, ATA 30 ice and rain protection, ATA 36 pneumatics, ATA oxygen systems, fluid mechanics, systems engineering, and/or computational fluid dynamics

* Demonstrate 5+ years of experience in a commercial aircraft environment

* Maintain experience with 2D and 3D design, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

* Apply experience with design release processes, policies, procedures, tooling issues, supplier-driven changes, and certification activities

* Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

* Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

# Preferred Skills

* Possess 10+ years of design engineering experience in a commercial aircraft environment

* Demonstrate Boeing 7-Series and Douglas aircraft experience

* Maintain 5+ years of experience in Production, Sub-Components, or Spares

* Support cross-functional team environments with strong verbal and written communication skills

# Job Duties & Functions

* Perform mechanical system design and analysis for air conditioning, air distribution and ventilation, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, ice and rain protection, nitrogen generating systems, and related aircraft systems

* Provide engineering solutions for obsolescent parts, supporting suppliers and aircraft type design requirements

* Review and approve engineering analyses

* Guide less experienced engineers and support team development

* Collaborate with team managers and leads to assist engineering team members

* Coordinate with project engineers, stress analysts, Materials and Processes personnel, suppliers, and procurement organizations to obtain analysis approval

* Present engineering solutions and technical information independently during supplier interactions

* Work with cross-functional engineering organizations to ensure requirements are achieved

* Develop analytical processes to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency

* Support Boeing design release processes, policies, procedures, tooling issue resolution, and supplier-driven changes

* Interpret and apply industry and company standards and processes

* Utilize engineering tools, including CATIA V5, Enovia, PDM, STEALTH, QMAP, REDARS, ETAC, ESPEC, Bridge, and related engineering systems
