We are looking for a Lead or Senior Test Design and Analysis Engineer to support the C-17 Avionics/Flight Controls Development Engineering team in Long Beach, California.
Position Responsibilities- Lead a team in a collaborative environment in the design, analysis, test, and sustainment of the C-17 Flight Control System
- Ability to travel domestically in support of Lab/Flight Test and Air Force customer meetings may be required
- Technical oversight of and participation in the following tasks:
- Ensure technical compliance of project statement of work
- Develop Flight Control System integration plan and lead a team to perform the testing phase of a project
- Create subsystem development and system level tests based on requirements
- Conduct subsystem development and system level tests in lab simulation facilities
- Perform flight test validation testing
- Document test findings, collaborate with systems focal/supplier to determine root cause on anomalies, communicate with supplier during test program to mature a solution
- 5+ years of experience with aircraft systems including avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical and integrated vehicle management systems
- 1+ year of experience leading a team or project
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with air vehicle systems
- Military or commercial aircraft program experience
- Experience working within a matrixed reporting organization
- Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and organizations
- Exhibit excellent communication skills (oral and written)
The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range Level 4: $146,200 - $197,800
Summary Pay Range Level 5: $176,800 - $239,200
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required.
