Job OverviewBased at Rocket Lab’s global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Electrical Engineer I/II will work on avionics hardware for spacecraft programs, covering requirements definition, design, prototype fabrication, testing, and production.
What You’ll Get to Do- Develop PCBA requirements with other engineering disciplines
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Conduct circuit analysis—including power, tolerance, and reliability
- Verify PCBA design and perform system integration testing
- Provide production manufacturing support as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
- 5+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Strong background in analog electronics design
- Proficiency with SPICE and Excel circuit analysis
- Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
- 8+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Strong background in analog electronics design
- Proficiency with SPICE and Excel circuit analysis
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for complex PCB design
- Knowledge of processors, FPGAs, switch‑mode power supplies, communication interfaces, and analog instrumentation
- Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Master’s or PhD in electrical, computer, or related engineering
- Experience with basic electronic lab equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.)
- Experience designing for space environments (radiation, mitigation)
- Experience designing for high‑reliability aerospace applications
- Experience with rigid‑flex PCBs and electromechanical design
- Experience with FPGA design and embedded software for ARM cores
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
Base salary ranges from $135,000 to $189,000 USD (California only). Additional compensation may include company equity.
