Senior Electrical Engineer I/II - Secret Clearance

Rocket Lab is a space company that designs and manufactures rockets, satellites, and payloads.

Based at Rocket Lab’s global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Electrical Engineer I/II will work on avionics hardware for spacecraft programs, covering requirements definition, design, prototype fabrication, testing, and production.

• Develop PCBA requirements with other engineering disciplines
• Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
• Conduct circuit analysis—including power, tolerance, and reliability
• Verify PCBA design and perform system integration testing
• Provide production manufacturing support as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
• 5+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
• Strong background in analog electronics design
• Proficiency with SPICE and Excel circuit analysis
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
• 8+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
• Strong background in analog electronics design
• Proficiency with SPICE and Excel circuit analysis
• Proficiency with Altium Designer for complex PCB design
• Knowledge of processors, FPGAs, switch‑mode power supplies, communication interfaces, and analog instrumentation
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

• Master’s or PhD in electrical, computer, or related engineering
• Experience with basic electronic lab equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.)
• Experience designing for space environments (radiation, mitigation)
• Experience designing for high‑reliability aerospace applications
• Experience with rigid‑flex PCBs and electromechanical design
• Experience with FPGA design and embedded software for ARM cores
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

Base salary ranges from $135,000 to $189,000 USD (California only). Additional compensation may include company equity.
