Lead the development, design and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications to identify dominant deterioration and failure modes, causes/effects of deterioration, and corrective actions required to eliminate defects.
Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment performance that adversely affect Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, or costs to establish a list of "Bad Actors" that will become the primary focus of driving improved reliability.
Drive the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Asset Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), On-Stream Time (OST), and benchmark performance against best-in-class, track progress, and measure improvements.
Conduct analysis/investigations and provide leadership to others in Failure Mode & Effects Analysis & Root Cause Analysis on equipment failures that significantly affect Safety, OEE, or costs.
Ensure the results from this analysis become the basis for the applicable Equipment Maintenance Strategies.
Assist with the management of the company's Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program and ensure that all required testing and new work follows state and federal code requirements, as well as company's expectations and Best Practices.
Develop a comprehensive Spare Parts Strategy and create accurate development of equipment Bill of Materials for new spare parts added.
Review and provide technical input into capital projects, including the management of the maintenance portion of the Early Equipment Care program.
Support plants in the field implementation of all strategies and during major unplanned equipment failures.
Support Operations and Maintenance on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment design adequacy.
Perform field inspections during planned TA with Maintenance Engineers, verify FMEAs, Equipment Strategies, and PM adjustments.
Represent the West Coast plants in Reliability Network meetings, sharing strategies and lessons learned.
RequirementsBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience;
Mechanical engineering preferred
3+ years of relevant maintenance and reliability experience in chemical, petrochemical, or refinery plants
Strong tenure in industry; travel (30-50%) to support Reliability Network activities
Experience with API and ASME Codes and Standards
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) training/certification
SAP experience
Proven troubleshooting/problem-solving skills and detail-oriented, data-based decision making
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Computer proficiency with MS Office and databases
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
Preferred/Desired: GE-APM (Meridium), RBI, reliability tools (Weibull Analysis, Reliability Growth), RCM, CMRP, CRL, predictive modeling tools, digital predictive technologies
