Electrical Engineer (III to Senior), Harness
Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA
True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.
True Anomaly values creativity and ingenuity, challenging assumptions to deliver ambitious results, and recognizes that our team is our competitive advantage.
True Anomaly is looking for you, a creative and experienced engineer, to develop and design harness assemblies and harness routing on spacecraft and test setups. Designs will interconnect the electronics and power subsystem within the spacecraft. Interconnected systems include power, propulsion, guidance and navigation, data and telemetry. The harnessing design and implementation are a crucial part of the spacecraft system.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating 3D harness routes considering bend radius, separation, and maintainability and managing technical trade studies.
- Generating electrical interconnect diagrams and schematics by defining point-to-point connections for power, signals, and data links; understanding grounding and shielding principles.
- Interface and coordinate between various team members including engineering, program management, production and quality. Create 3D models of harness designs using Solid Works software.
- Analyzing harnesses with applicable quality and reliability standards.
- Developing test equipment for IR/DWV testing.
- Designing and integrating harness routing within the spacecraft and test equipment.
- Supporting production and quality assurance to clear obstacles and ensure build meets design intent.
- Developing BOM's and working within ERP system for production coordination.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering.
- 4+ years of professional experience with harnessing design and routing.
- Experience with Solid Works, CATIA, NX or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as it relates to harness design (e.g., use of tools such as Cameo).
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with little input on requirements or management oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to travel 20% of the time.
Preferred skills and experience include:
- Experience with Solid Works Electrical and Routing.
- Experience implementing designs compliant with IPC/WHMA-A-620A or NASA-STD-8739.4.
Compensation includes:
- III Base Salary: $105,000 - $170,000
- Senior Base Salary: $135,000 - $220,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
Additional requirements include:
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance.
- Work location — this role will be onsite at our Centennial, CO location.
- Work environment — is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory.
- Physical demands — the physical demands of the job may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs.
