Energy And Mineral Resources Engineer
Under the close supervision of the Senior Mineral Resources Engineer, the Energy and Mineral Resources Engineer assists within the Operations Section, providing assistance to engineering and inspection of State managed oil, gas, and geothermal, renewable energy, and mineral leases. The incumbent performs the less complex field inspections, engineering evaluations, and compliance assessments; coordinates the less technical activities with peers and inspectors;
and assists in representing the State Lands (Commission) in interactions with operators, contractors, and regulatory agencies. This position does not supervise staff but provides mentoring and less technical support to lower-level personnel. This position is required to have a valid CA driver's license and drive a vehicle on official State business.

Posted salaries do not reflect the 2 - 4.62% pay reduction in exchange for 3.5 – 8 hours per month of leave arising from the Personal Leave Program 2025. Information related to salary reductions is available in Section 2113 of the CalHR Human Resources Manual. This position is required to have a valid CA driver's license and drive a vehicle on official State business.
New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement into an alternate range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.
