Seeking a System Safety Engineer to support aircraft certification and Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) activities for Nitrogen Generation System (NGS) programs.
This engineer will evaluate failure conditions, assign severity classifications, develop mitigation strategies, and support certification activities for safety-critical aircraft systems.
This is a highly specialized aerospace safety engineering role.
Responsibilities- Perform Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA)
- Conduct Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA)
- Perform and review Failure Modes & Effects Analyses (FMEA)
- Identify potential failure conditions and evaluate associated risks
- Determine severity classifications and Development Assurance Levels (DAL)
- Allocate safety requirements to systems and subsystems
- Develop risk mitigation strategies for safety-critical functions
- Author and maintain system safety documentation
- Support certification and airworthiness activities
- Review verification evidence related to safety requirements
- Participate in design reviews and safety reviews
- Collaborate with aircraft systems, fuel systems, and certification teams
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Experience performing system safety analyses in aerospace environments
- Experience with PSSA, FHA, and FMEA activities
- Understanding of aircraft certification processes
- Experience evaluating failure conditions and risk mitigations
- Experience allocating safety requirements
- Experience supporting safety-critical aerospace systems
- Airworthiness experience
- Avionics Systems experience
