Charging Integration & Validation Engineer

Job Description

• Execute end-to-end vehicle-level validation and regression testing for AC and DC charging systems.
• Run charging tests, analyze logs and test data, document results, and communicate findings to engineering stakeholders.
• Identify, reproduce, and triage charging-related issues, partnering with software, systems, and hardware teams to drive resolution.
• Lead integration and validation activities for DC Fast Charging (DCFC), coordinating dependencies across Battery Management, Thermal, High Voltage, and Charging subsystems.
• Develop and execute test plans to improve charging performance, reliability, and capability across various charging scenarios and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, requirements, and validation of new charging features, including DCFC preconditioning, scheduled charging, and future charging technologies.
• Provide regular status updates, technical recommendations, and test results to program managers and technical leadership.

• 5+ years of experience in vehicle systems validation, integration, or testing.
• Direct experience with electric vehicle charging systems.
• Strong understanding of:
  • AC Charging
  • DC Fast Charging (DCFC)
  • EVSE interactions
  • Vehicle charging architectures
• Experience validating vehicle functions at the complete vehicle level.
• Familiarity with charging communication standards including:
  • ISO 15118
  • DIN 70121
  • SAE J1772
  • J3400 / NACS
• Experience troubleshooting complex hardware/software integration issues.
• Ability to analyze CAN logs, charging traces, and vehicle diagnostic data.
• Experience working across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong technical communication skills with experience presenting test results and status updates.
  
  Experience with EV charging validation tools from:
  • Keysight
  • Vector
  • ChargeX
  • AVL
  • dSPACE
• Hands-on experience with:
  • CANoe
  • CANalyzer
  • Vehicle Spy
  • CANape
• Understanding of:
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Thermal Systems
  • High Voltage Systems
  • Power Electronics
• Experience developing automated test frameworks or validation scripts.
• Familiarity with charging certification processes and compliance testing.
• Previous experience supporting EV launches or production vehicle programs.
• Experience with Plug & Charge implementation.
• Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure and public charging networks.
