Job Summary
Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs and providing tailored financial solutions in personal banking, retail investments, lending, small business, and digital banking. Works collaboratively across the branch, partners, and channels to achieve outstanding customer experience, secure business outcomes, and uphold risk and compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities- Conduct needs‑based assessments to grow customer loyalty and uncover immediate and future opportunities.
- Engage customers on product and service offerings, including everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing, and small‑business solutions.
- Recommend digital and self‑serve options to simplify banking experiences.
- Support transaction processing and maintain accurate data entry in line with quality checks and audit requirements.
- Apply the risk‑management framework and comply with lending policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, following sound credit‑granting principles.
- Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
- Collaborate with branch and market teams, and may work across multiple branches or channels as needed.
- Address and resolve customer questions, issues, and suspicious patterns related to money‑laundering safeguards.
- Handle escalations, analyze issues, and determine next steps while maintaining compliance with risk culture and risk appetite.
- Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience; post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Canada‑only: registration to sell investment products; appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
- Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs, retail investments, and lending products.
- Experience in financial services and consultative customer‑service or sales roles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Tech‑savvy: confident use of social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
- Pragmatic, resourceful, and a self‑starter with the drive to provide a personal customer experience.
