Financial Manager, Financial Analyst, VP/Director of Finance
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Finance will serve as the primary finance leader supporting manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, inventory, and operations. This individual will play a critical role in partnering with executive leadership to build the financial infrastructure required to scale a complex manufacturing organization from low-volume production into a high-throughput environment.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position that combines strategic finance with operational execution. The Director will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Procurement, Program Management, and Accounting to establish scalable financial processes, improve operational performance, and provide financial insight that drives better business decisions.
Success in this role requires an individual who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoys building processes, systems, and teams from the ground up. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing finance expertise, strong business partnership skills, and the ability to translate operational complexity into actionable financial insights.
Responsibilities
FP&A & Strategic Finance
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for manufacturing and operations.
- Build dynamic financial models supporting production ramp, demand planning, capital deployment, and operational investments.
- Partner with executive leadership on scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Provide actionable insights into cost drivers, operational risks, and financial performance trends.
- Translate operational metrics into financial outcomes to improve executive decision-making.
Manufacturing Finance & Infrastructure
- Serve as the finance leader supporting Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, and Operations.
- Partner closely with operations leadership to improve manufacturing performance, cost efficiency, throughput, and gross margin.
- Develop financial visibility into manufacturing performance through operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting.
- Lead financial analysis around capacity planning, labor utilization, production efficiency, yield improvement, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate manufacturing investments, automation initiatives, capital expenditures, and facility expansion opportunities through financial modeling and ROI analysis.
- Design and implement scalable manufacturing finance processes capable of supporting rapid organizational growth.
- Build best-in-class financial reporting, KPI dashboards, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Establish standardized reporting for manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with ERP and systems teams to improve financial visibility through automation, reporting, and system enhancements.
- Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain leadership to improve inventory management, material cost, supplier performance, and working capital.
- Develop financial reporting around inventory, purchase price variance (PPV), material usage, inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, and supply chain performance.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives through supplier cost analysis, negotiation support, and total cost modeling.
- Build financial models supporting long-term supply chain strategy and production scalability
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build trusted relationships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Executive Leadership.
- Influence operational decision-making through data-driven financial analysis.
- Lead and mentor a growing team of finance professionals while helping establish a high-performance finance organization.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
