This is a full-time on-site role for a Recreation Therapist, located in Hawthorne, CA. The Recreation Therapist will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programs tailored to the individual needs of patients. Duties include leading group and individual recreational activities, incorporating art therapy, maintaining detailed progress notes, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient care goals. Ensuring patient well-being and fostering therapeutic engagement are key aspects of this role.
Qualifications- Strong background in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification is required or RTC Recreation Therapist Certification
- Experience in maintaining accurate and up-to-date progress notes
- Proficiency in Art Therapy techniques and their practical applications in therapeutic settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead group and individual therapy sessions effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is required
- Experience in healthcare or rehabilitation settings is a plus
