Join our team as a Life Enrichment Director, Glen Park at Long beach!

The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities and engagement program that enhances residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being. This role creates a vibrant community environment that promotes purpose, independence, and quality of life while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a diverse monthly activity calendar based on residents’ interests and abilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead group and individual activities, events, and outings
  • Assess resident interests and needs through interviews, surveys, and care plan participation
  • Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and other departments to support holistic resident care
  • Supervise, train, and schedule activity staff and volunteersn
  • Manage the life enrichment department budget and supplies
  • Coordinate entertainment, community partnerships, and special events
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and documentation standards
  • Maintain accurate activity records and participation tracking
  • Promote resident engagement and encourage family involvement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or related field (preferred)
  • Activity Director Certification (as required by state regulations)
  • 2+ years of experience in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to plan creative, engaging programs for diverse resident populations
  • Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused mindset
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents during activities
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to transport residents safely (if required)
Work Environment
  • Primarily within an assisted living community setting
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21-$26/hour
