Join our team as a Life Enrichment Director, Glen Park at Long beach!
The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities and engagement program that enhances residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being. This role creates a vibrant community environment that promotes purpose, independence, and quality of life while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a diverse monthly activity calendar based on residents’ interests and abilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead group and individual activities, events, and outings
- Assess resident interests and needs through interviews, surveys, and care plan participation
- Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and other departments to support holistic resident care
- Supervise, train, and schedule activity staff and volunteersn
- Manage the life enrichment department budget and supplies
- Coordinate entertainment, community partnerships, and special events
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and documentation standards
- Maintain accurate activity records and participation tracking
- Promote resident engagement and encourage family involvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or related field (preferred)
- Activity Director Certification (as required by state regulations)
- 2+ years of experience in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to plan creative, engaging programs for diverse resident populations
- Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused mindset
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents during activities
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to transport residents safely (if required)
- Primarily within an assisted living community setting
- Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21-$26/hour
