Substance Abuse Counselor – Long ; PHP

The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing substance abuse counseling, assessing and monitoring client behavior within College Medical Centers IOP day treatment program. The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for documenting individual and family sessions, treatment planning, group facilitation and biopsychosocial assessments. The Chemical Dependency Counselor will also be providing crisis management and education for the clients and family/significant others in a therapeutic milieu setting.

• Possess advanced knowledge of 12-step treatment model and its application in an outpatient treatment program.
• Knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment practices including non-pharmacological symptom management techniques.
• Must Be a certified SUD counselor-CADC/CATC/SUDCC
• 1-3 Years of experience operating as a CATC/CADC/SUDCC I/II/III
• Individual certification requirements and scope of practice must be maintained
• Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnosis and substance use diagnosis, terminology, and medical record charting basics.
• Good group facilitation skills and experience.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $30.22 per hour (Depends on years of experience in the role and CADC level)
