. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation’s largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary

The anticipated salary hiring range is up to$75,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Work Arrangements

Position Information

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Talent Management Specialist to contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of systemwide Talent Management programs. The role provides analytical, operational, and project support across all focus areas, including but not limited to employee experience, workforce readiness, career mobility, performance management, talent acquisition standards, and workforce planning and analytics.

This position is open to current CSU employees only.

Responsibilities Analytical and Research Tasks
  • Support Talent Management and Organizational Development initiatives by researching, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to employee experience, readiness, mobility, performance, recruitment, and workforce planning.
  • Compile and summarize survey results, stakeholder feedback, and supporting documentation to prepare reports, insights, and trend summaries.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on best practices, frameworks, and emerging trends in Talent Management and workforce planning.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Talent Management metrics, data definitions, and analytical tools to support systemwide programs.
  • Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities for process and program improvement based on workforce and program data.
Program Development and Operational Support
  • Support systemwide Talent Management programs by developing, updating, and maintaining tools, templates, guides, surveys, and resources for campus and systemwide use.
  • Refine and enhance program materials by incorporating research findings, stakeholder input, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and track project workflows using Smartsheet and related systems to support timely completion of Talent Management deliverables.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, summaries, and materials for leadership updates, presentations, and program reporting.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of systemwide frameworks, tools, and processes related to recruitment, readiness, mobility, performance, and workforce planning.
Project Coordination and Workflow Management
  • Coordinate Talent Management project activities, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring alignment across multiple work streams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify issues or risks, and support adjustments to timelines or work plans as needed.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including project briefs, status updates, action items, and implementation trackers.
  • Support information sharing by gathering updates from internal partners and campuses and preparing summarized project insights for the Senior Director.
  • Assist with project planning by organizing tasks, tracking dependencies, and supporting resource planning activities.
  • Support the consistent use of project management
