Job Summary

Under the direction of the Survey & Statistical Consultant, this position provides support in the collection, organization, and preparation of data for statistical analysis and reporting. The incumbent assists with survey administration, data management, and the preparation of tables, charts, and reports. This position ensures the accuracy and consistency of data handling and contributes to the university’s planning, assessment, and accountability processes by providing dependable technical and administrative assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with statistical and qualitative data support for faculty and graduate students including design, data preparation, analysis and web-based surveys.
  • Provide clerical and technical support in preparing statistical summaries, visualizations, and reports under the direction of the Statistical Consultant.
  • Assist in aggregating statistical web access information Qualtrics, Campus Software, Canvas and other databases.
  • Assist and support the SPOT administration when needed.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,274 (Step
1) - $7,684 (Step 20) per month.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of research techniques, including methods for gathering, compiling, and analyzing research data, as well as a solid foundation in statistical procedures and principles. They possess working proficiency in desktop word processing and spreadsheet software, along with experience using survey and evaluation tools (preferably Qualtrics) and qualitative analysis software such as Dedoose or NVivo. This individual is skilled in performing basic statistical analyses using computer-based programs like SAS or SPSS and can translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible information, including effectively training faculty.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ideal candidate collaborates effectively and fosters a customer service–oriented approach while working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating professionalism, inclusivity, and strong interpersonal effectiveness.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred:

  • Statistical experience preferred.
  • Experience with qualitative software such as Dedoose and survey software such as Qualtrics is strongly preferred.
