Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst

The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $166,680 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Analyst/Programmer - Expert
The Client is seeking a Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst to provide technical support for CSU's People Soft Student Administration application. Information Systems' Application Development area encompasses application support and upgrade activities for campuses and the chancellor's office, integration with other third-party/external and/or internal systems, and consolidation of the HR databases implementation (CHRS). The Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst requires proactive initiative to resolve the most complex Student Administration application issues in support/development areas that include implementation, system analysis, planning, design, development, and support of the Campus Solutions application.
The expert level position must possess advanced, comprehensive, and technical knowledge of the Student Administration system including a high level of developer ability. Specific technical support and development assignments may change at any time based on Application Development's project and priorities, including supporting other applications within the area such as HCM and Finance.
This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
Under the general direction of the Director, Application Operations, the Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst will:
- Create new technical development without assistance from other analysts based on functional specifications.
- Support technical development of the People Soft SA application using People Tools, People Code, Web Services, Integration Broker, Application Designer, Application Messaging, Application Engine, complex SQR, etc.
- Provide production support for the campuses by analyzing and troubleshooting campus application issues reported through Service Now help desk tickets. Coordinate People Soft updates, fixes, upgrades, and installations. Advise campus programmers on technical development, environment control and maintenance issues. Collaborate with functional leads on ongoing maintenance and development.
- Mentor and train Technical Developer/Analysts on development efforts, best practices, and documentation.
- Research and stay current on the latest development software utilizing training and self-study tools.
- Lead and participate on project teams to implement new system functionality within the People Soft SA applications.
- Analyze, design, code and unit test application solutions from requirements using defined process and procedures. Present analysis to management and other project teams.
- Provide estimates and time frames for development work and deliverables.
- Deliver effective solutions on time and adhere to development and quality standards.
- Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards.
- Undertake special projects as directed including working with other subject matter experts (SME) teams to facilitate cross training and coverage of all application areas.
This position requires:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as course work in the People Soft Student Administration application.
- Minimum 7-10 years of technical experience developing and supporting the People Soft Student Administration application with demonstrated development expertise in the Student Administration application version 9.2 or higher and People Tools version 8.60 or higher.
