This recruitment will be used to fill all current and future vacancies.

* The Information Technology Services Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to be our Technical Support Specialist! These incumbents will perform routine to complex and responsible systems and network maintenance and support functions for District computers, networks and devices; installs and configures servers, workstations and other devices. We are looking for someone who has experience in providing second-level problem resolution and technical support services to information technology customers for the operation and use of personal computer and peripheral equipment, local and wide area networks, Internet and Intranet services and various server platform connections.

Additionally, we are looking for someone who has obtained a Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field; and one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in providing customer support in an information systems operating environment similar in size and complexity to that of the District; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION

* Type of position:
Full time (40 hours/week) / Bargaining Unit

* Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

* Location:

Will support both campuses, but could be located at either the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) or Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC)

* Salary:
Range 36, $6,341.70 - $7,822.93 Monthly

* Eligibility list:
Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.

* Advanced salary placement:
Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
