Job Description & How to Apply Below

Founded in 1977 as the Senior Care Action Network, SCAN began with a simple but radical idea: that older adults deserve to stay healthy and independent. That belief was championed by a group of community activists we still honor today as the  12 Angry Seniors.  Their mission continues to guide everything we do.

Today, SCAN is a nonprofit health organization serving more than 500,000 people across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington, with over $8 billion in annual revenue. With nearly five decades of experience, we have built a distinctive, values-driven platform dedicated to improving care for older adults.

Our work spans Medicare Advantage, fully integrated care models, primary care, care for the most medically and socially complex populations, and next-generation care delivery models. Across all of this, we are united by a shared commitment: combining compassion with discipline, innovation with stewardship, and growth with integrity.

At SCAN, we believe scale should strengthen-not dilute-our mission. We are building the future of care for older adults, grounded in purpose, accountability, and respect for the people and communities we serve.

The Job

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven analytic solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with business leaders to transform complex healthcare claims data into actionable insights, compelling visualizations, and executive-level reporting that improve operational performance, member outcomes, and business results.

Convert business needs into clear functional and technical requirements that support application development, process automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Partner with business owners to define, standardize, and govern enterprise metrics, KPI definitions, business rules, reporting methodologies, and data governance standards, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment across executive, operational, and departmental reporting.
  • Develop and maintain semantic data layers, analytical models, and governed reporting structures that establish trusted, reusable, and scalable data assets while supporting enterprise-wide business intelligence and AI capabilities.
  • Analyze complex healthcare claims, operational, workforce, and provider datasets to identify trends, risks, root causes, opportunities, and performance improvement recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Build, optimize, and support data pipelines, data integrations, queries, and analytical processes utilizing SQL, Python, Snowflake, and related technologies while ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Create and deliver executive dashboards, operational reports, visualizations, and data stories that effectively connect strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and frontline operational performance to support data-driven decision making.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and business insights to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership, driving adoption of analytics solutions and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, results-oriented approach by proactively leading initiatives from concept through implementation, evaluating emerging analytics, AI, and automation technologies, collaborating across teams, sharing knowledge, solving complex business problems, and supporting departmental goals and other assigned responsibilities while maintaining availability during standard Pacific Time (PST/PDT) business hours.
